October 9th, 2004: Washington State
Better late than never, right? Before the school year started, I went to Washington State with my dad.
We spent some time in Seattle proper. Fun, but didn't take many good pictures.

Then we spent most of the day driving to and visiting Olympia National Park. We spent most of our time walking a trail through their old-growth forest. This wasn't the rainforest per se, but it was awfully close.
Near the trailhead
This place was lush like you would not believe
And the trees were awfully big
Stump
I have like a million pictures that look like this
I like this one a lot
My new desktop background
A brief moment of sunshine
Did I mention it was lush?

Finally, we drove down to visit the Spruce Goose. It's the world's largest wooden aircraft, although a better way to think if it is "the largest aircraft you have ever seen, and it's made out of wood." Clearly bigger planes must exist but I've never seen one.
The Spruce Goose
This plane is so fucking big!
And it looks bigger in person
Yes, that's an SR-71 Blackbird nestled under the wing of the Goose.
Voom
Sometimes when I look at this one, the turbine seems to be rotating. Kind of a weird optical illusion.
