June 22nd, 2004: Construction Work
Well, another thing added to the list of Things I Have Helped Build: a little waterfall pond in our back yard.
Not quite done ...
Obviously there's some work left to be done; we underestimated the number of stones needed to line the edges. Also, it looks like there's a hole in the big black liner because we seem to lose water when the pump is running.
Nice stonework, eh?
Shouldn't be hard to finish things off, though. The leak is probably somewhere in the interface between the upper and lower ponds; it might even be just a misfolded piece of the liner. That's really the only hard part of the construction. We want the water to flow over the big blue stone, so somehow we need to get a water-tight seal between it and our liner. We'll figure somehing out. Once we get more stones, it won't be hard to finish the edges and hide the pump bits behind the bushes. Throw in some lily pads and bam, you're done.
