August 9th, 2003: Camping
We went camping in Vermont. We cleverly chose to camp up a mountain with no trail and a brutal first hundred feet, easily a 50% grade slope. We went in the middle of a two-week string of thunderstorms. We are smart people.
Spooooky abandoned trail
As far up as we got
Alex's big tent was sort of, well, broken, so Mike and I used some old-skool engineering techniques (duct tape, string) to "fix" it.
We call it "Gimpy the Short Tent"
Genuine pride
We also engineered other solutions:
Patent #2337081: System for Sleeping Bag Transportation
Patent #2352217: Graham Leans on a Tree
OK, we didn't make up that last one.
August 4th, 2003: T-Storms
You know it's too hot and humid outside when your refrigerator is sweating.
